Im writing this as a complain about the standard of care and the billing practices at this practice. We brought our four-day-old kitten to them after she stopped feeding. We were deeply distressed by the veterinarian's handling of her during the consultation. The manner in which she was manipulated, forcefully spun around and handled rough and insensitive was extremely alarming to witness. The kitten threw up on the spot and the doctor offered no professional insight, only kept on asking us what we think. Despite a bill of £280, compromising a £50 consultation no diagnosis was provided. We were sent home with some drops, but our kitten sadly passed away the following day. While i understand that not every illness can be cured, the lack of a diagnosis and lack of empathy has led me to question whether the care provided was appropriate or if their primary motive was their financial gain. We also brought our other cat in for neutering for which we had quoted a price of £120. Upon payment, we were informed the fee was £165, due to an additional £45 for a microchip that was implanted without our prior knowledge or consent. While I acknowledge that microchipping is a legal requirement, we were never informed that they intended to perform this procedure during the operation, nor were we given the option to consent or discuss the additional cost. This constitutes an unauthorised additional charge. For a household budgeting carefully for veterinary costs, an unexpected £45 is a significant and unwelcome financial pressure, especially considering the fact that this practice does not offer a plan setup. I will not be returning to this practice with my pets and will advise others to avoid it

We recently took our dog Murphy to this practice after he developed a persistent cough. Murphy has cancer, and unfortunately our previous vets weren’t willing or able to explore options that might make him more comfortable. From our very first visit here, the difference was clear. The team suggested some experimental treatment plans to try to ease his cough - something we hadn’t been offered before. On Monday, Murphy had an emergency when he began vomiting, and the care he received from Kevin was absolutely phenomenal. He took such care and attention with Murphy, prescribed new medication, and within 24 hours the transformation was remarkable. Not only has the cough completely disappeared, but Murphy is the happiest and most comfortable we’ve seen him in months. What really impressed us further was that, while our old vets were not willing to perform an X-ray without putting Murphy under general anaesthetic, Kevin was able to do so with him fully conscious - avoiding unnecessary risk and stress. Although his condition is still serious, we are so grateful to see him enjoying life again. We truly believe that if we had stayed with our old vets, we might not still have him with us today. We can’t thank Kevin and the team enough for giving Murphy this precious extra time.

I would highly recommend Mansion Hill as they have gone above and beyond with my anxious dog, providing free cuddle appointments - positive time with the nurse in the surgery where only good things happen.

This was just a check up from a visit last week when an puss filled access was drained. It was clear to me that the wound was healed up and of no further concern. So why, woukd I be charged a full consultation fee? I have never been charged for a follow up visit on previous occasions. As the vet last week will have completed a full health check so why should i pay another £50 for the vet to confirm what i already knew. When i questioned this i was told the charged was being correctly applied, However I took out a Plan with the vet on my previous visit which included annual boosters. It came to light that unlike what I was advised last visit, that my cat jwas now Up To Date with everything - HE HADNT ACTUALLY BEEN GIVEN HIS ANNUAL BOOSTER. It was agreed that this visit would be classed as his vaccine booster visit and so charge would be made. But I shouldn't have relied on a Mistske by the vet to ensure j was not being Over-charged. I also asked to purchase a more effective worm and flea treatment for another one of my cats registered at mansion Hill but as he hadn't needed treatment for a while, my purchase was denied. I was told told I would have to pay £50 for a consultation before they could sell me any treatment for fleas and worms. It seems thereby no other motivation other than making as much money out of every visit, Having been with Mansion Hill for more yean 20 years I will sadly be moving after this visit

Wish this had a 6* option. Really cannot recommend Mansion Hill, John and his amazing team, enough. Over the life of our cat Felix they have been there every step of the way. We had to put him to sleep today, and John came to the house, calmed our nerves, and make it all very peaceful, what we needed for what has been a difficult day. Thank you John, and everyone who works at Mansion Hill, we really appreciate having such an amazing veterinary practice.
