Hawthorne Lodge Veterinary Practice is RCVS-accredited and is a veterinary nurse training facility. Based on recent feedback, it appears set up for both routine care and common procedures, with examples including a double tooth extraction and treatment for a foreign body in an ear. Owners also mention some practical process points such as providing a quotation before a procedure and, in one case, submitting an insurance claim on the client’s behalf. End-of-life care experiences are mixed: one review praises an at-home goodbye supported by staff, while another describes disorganisation and a missed keepsake request.
4.7 stars from 211 reviews. - Specific clinical wins: a difficult double tooth extraction and fast help removing/handling barley barbs in an ear.

Excellent and prompt service for my dog when he got some barley barbs inside his ear. Hawthorne Lodge provided a quotation prior to the procedure and have even submitted my insurance claim for me.

We had to make the heartbreaking decision to put our beloved dog to sleep and sadly, the experience at this practice made an already traumatic moment even worse. From start to finish, the process felt disorganised and uncertain. The staff did not appear to know what they were doing, and we were left feeling unsupported and confused. We were told that they would take a print of his nose for us to keep, something I was really holding onto as a small piece of him. We’ve since been told that this didn’t happen — because the nurse went to lunch and it was simply forgotten. My dog has now been cremated, and we’ll never get that chance back. There are no second chances in a moment like this. What should have been handled with care and compassion felt careless and rushed. I truly hope no one else has to experience this.

We would like to thank Maite and the veterinary nurse (so sorry can’t remember your name) . We had to say goodbye to our beloved Luther on Tuesday. It was heartbreaking, but your kindness and compassion helped so much. You came to our home and we were able to say goodbye and love him until his last breath. It gives us comfort, thank you 🐾♥️.
